This Free Sewing Site Drafts a Pattern to Your Body
FreeSewing turns your own measurements into a made-to-measure sewing pattern, with proper controls and PDF exports instead of another size chart.

Most sewing patterns still ask you to choose a size and hope your body agrees with it. FreeSewing takes a much better approach: give it your measurements and it drafts the pattern around you.
That is the useful bit. This is not a folder full of one-size-fits-nobody PDFs. You can choose a design, enter a measurement set, adjust the options and export a bespoke pattern. Open FreeSewing and see the designs.
It drafts instead of stretching
FreeSewing says its patterns are made to measure in the browser. It does not simply grade one master size up and down. That matters because two people can share a waist measurement and still need completely different adjustments through the seat, shoulders or chest.
You can keep multiple measurement sets too, which is handy if you sew for family, customers or the suspiciously well-dressed dog.
The controls are the real value
Measurements get you close, but the editor also exposes design options. Depending on the garment, you can change things such as ease, length and construction details before exporting. The result can be downloaded as a PDF, and saving it to an account is optional.
One thing I like is that you can test the system with curated measurement sets before finding the tape measure and discovering what lockdown did to your waistline.
The catch
A custom draft is not a magic fitting guarantee. Measuring accurately matters, fabric behaves differently and a test garment is still a very sensible idea. Some designs also need more sewing confidence than others.
Still, if standard-size patterns usually send you into an alteration spiral, this is an excellent free place to start. Pick one simple design, generate the pattern, print the scale check first and make a cheap test version before cutting the good fabric.
