This Free Tool Builds Storage Bins Around Your Stuff
Gridfinity Generator creates custom bins, baseplates and fitted cut-outs in the browser, then exports printable STL files for your exact setup.

There is a special kind of maker madness where you spend six hours organising tools to save eleven seconds later. Gridfinity Generator makes that behaviour far easier to justify.
It is a free browser tool for creating custom Gridfinity boxes, baseplates and fitted cut-outs. Set the size, walls, dividers and hardware options, then export an STL for 3D printing. Build a custom Gridfinity bin.
Make the bin fit the object
The normal Gridfinity system is based on a modular grid, which is brilliant until the thing you want to store is an awkward shape. The generator lets you control the X, Y and Z units, wall thickness, lips, magnet positions, screw holes and internal elements.
There is also a cut-out tool that can import your own STL and form a fitted pocket around it. That is the difference between ‘a drawer with bins’ and ‘every tool has an annoyingly perfect little home’.
It removes the boring modelling
You could build these parts manually in CAD, but repeating bases, tolerances, fillets and divider walls gets old fast. This tool handles the Gridfinity structure while still giving you enough control to make something genuinely specific.
It was built by Marcus Svensson as a weekend experiment and remains free to use. A paid option supports the project and adds more saved-model capacity, but the core generator works without turning storage into a subscription crisis.
Print one test first
The generator cannot know your printer's real tolerances. Material shrinkage, elephant's foot and a slightly grumpy first layer can all change the fit. Export a small test before committing to a drawer full of plastic.
Start with the object that is constantly rolling into the wrong corner. Measure it properly, allow a little clearance, generate one bin and see whether Gridfinity finally cures the drawer chaos.
