A Film-Quality 3D Library Is Giving Everything Away
Poly Haven offers human-made HDRIs, textures and 3D models under CC0, with no signup, attribution requirement or commercial-use trap attached.

Free 3D assets usually arrive with one of three presents: a paywall, a licence headache or a model that looks like it was carved from a potato. Poly Haven is the lovely exception.
It offers HDRIs, photoscanned textures and detailed 3D models with no signup required. Better again, the assets are CC0, so you can use them in commercial work without asking permission or adding attribution. Browse the Poly Haven library.
The quality is not the free bit
The HDRIs reach 16K and above, the textures are at least 8K, and the model library covers furniture, tools, plants, architecture and plenty of useful background objects. This is proper visual-effects and game-art material, not a bin of abandoned practice files.
Poly Haven also says the assets are made by people, using photography, photogrammetry and careful manual work rather than generative AI. That will matter to anyone trying to keep a project consistent and traceable.
What can you actually make with it?
Product renders are the obvious win. Drop a chair, lamp, sign or packaging mockup into a convincing room, light it with one of the HDRIs and your blank 3D scene suddenly stops looking like a police interview room.
The textures are useful for game environments, architectural visuals and close-up mockups. The models can save hours when an ordinary prop is needed but does not deserve a day of modelling.
There is one sensible catch
The downloadable assets are CC0, but the website design, logos and showcase renders are not automatically yours to reuse. Also, high-resolution files are heavy. Download the size your job actually needs rather than stuffing a 16K sky into a small Instagram render.
My call: bookmark this before paying for another generic texture pack. Start with one scene, one HDRI and one surface material. The difference should be visible immediately.
